We finally get our hands on Chevy's much-anticipated extended range hybrid, the Volt, and take it for a spin. Is this the car that will bring GM back to life?

the volt does not compare to audi or bmw in any way but price! also i'm not trying to say there not good cars i like the volt? i even almost got one. but for the price it's not the king of econo that it was originally supposed to be.

Your numbers are ridiculous. The 32K is after taxpayer money to begin with. Your estimate of $5.25 a gallon gas is absurd and based on nothing and you completely ignore the cost of electricity to charge the car. There are some savings with the volt but no where near enough to make up for the high initial cost. Sales for this piece of crap were? 23% below their sales target for 2011 and are on pace to come nowhere near the 2012 sales target. Left, right, or middle people don't want this crap car

Deke Deke Deke, I would love to educate you on gas prices but I dont have the time. The math is simple is supply and demand, lots of people want OUR gas right now so the powers at be sell it to the person that pay the? most which is not YOU.

The volt cost 32K after tax credit. An average car will spend more than $30K on gas over 10 year thats with an average combined MPG at 25. Average gas price over next 10 years in a low estimate at $5.25. Simple math the Volt is not expensive. Add the benfits of not sending all that gas money outside US and? instead use electricity produced by Americans with American resources for Americans.

Korean Batteries will degrade within? the first 2 to 3 years. Also Electricity is not Free and hard to find in parking lots at work or anywhere but home? for that matter. Range needs to be at least 100 miles per charge !

you buy a volt to save money on gas right? well you spend $50k on a volt and i'll spend half that on say a malibu or cruze and i'll have $25k to spend on gas and half the monthly car $note.?

I love this car, but they? need to lower the price like 10k otherwise many people won't buy it. BUT they did outsell the leaf 2:1 last month so maybe people just dont want electric cars yet
